Meet Chef Teddy
Teddy Washington III is the Chef/Steward of Sweethearts Bakery. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Teddy has always nurtured a passion for baking. Teddy believes love through generations could be passed down in the kitchen. The love of his mother and grandmother fuels the flame that started Sweethearts. Now based in Nashville, he's keeping his community cared for with baked goods, freshly baked out of his luxury apartment. Sweetheart is a testament to community and love.

" Some of my earliest and dearest moments were in the kitchen where the scent of vanilla meant someone was being cared for, where hands knew recipes by heart... my mother and grandmother taught me that food could speak when words failed, and that a cake could hold grief, joy, and legacy all at once. Sweethearts is my offering...
I bake for the ones who crave nostalgia and the ones who are hungry for wonder — those who long for something familiar yet rare. This is full-hearted baking. There are no shortcuts here —only stories, craftsmanship, intentions, and reverence. You are not just fed. You are seen. You are remembered. And above all you are honored. "

While it has been rewarding to gain experience on multiple platforms, We have had our daydreams and ideas about what we would like to present to the world. Pulling from the memories, tastes, and gifts given to us by the many women in our lives, whom most have long passed. We’re setting out to share those experiences of love, joy, and memories in the form of baked goods. Not just sweet but balanced and using the absolute best seasonal ingredients possible.
