Cake Care

Tips for Transporting Your Cake

Before You Arrive:

  • Your cake will be chilled at pickup — your car should be too

  • In warm weather, run the AC on high before arrival and keep the car running while you pick up your cake.

  • In cold weather, keep the car cool and avoid direct heat from vents.

Handling Your Cake:

  • Two-tier cakes are heavy and awkward — we recommend brining a second person for assistance.

  • Always carry the cake from the bottomnever by the sides.

  • Avoid tilting, bumping, or jostling the box.

Placing Your Cake in the Car:

  • Place the cake box a completely flat surface the passenger side floor is usually best.

  • Do not place cakes on seats â€‹— they are never level. SUVs or vehicles with a flat cargo area are ideal.

  • Keep the cake out of direct sunlight at all times.

Driving Tips:

  • Drive carefully and deliberately. Avoid sharp turns, sudden stops, or hard braking. Take corners slowly and leave extra stopping distance.

Packaging & Storage:

  • One tier cakes are boxed in sturdy cardboard boxes with window lids.

  • Two-tier cakes are packaged in heavy-duty boxes for added stability.

  • If refrigeration is needed, we recommend storing the cake in its box.
