Tips for Transporting Your Cake
Before You Arrive:
-
Your cake will be chilled at pickup — your car should be too
-
In warm weather, run the AC on high before arrival and keep the car running while you pick up your cake.
-
In cold weather, keep the car cool and avoid direct heat from vents.
Handling Your Cake:
-
Two-tier cakes are heavy and awkward — we recommend brining a second person for assistance.
-
Always carry the cake from the bottom, never by the sides.
-
Avoid tilting, bumping, or jostling the box.
Placing Your Cake in the Car:
-
Place the cake box a completely flat surface —the passenger side floor is usually best.
-
Do not place cakes on seats — they are never level. SUVs or vehicles with a flat cargo area are ideal.
-
Keep the cake out of direct sunlight at all times.
Driving Tips:
-
Drive carefully and deliberately. Avoid sharp turns, sudden stops, or hard braking. Take corners slowly and leave extra stopping distance.
Packaging & Storage:
-
One tier cakes are boxed in sturdy cardboard boxes with window lids.
-
Two-tier cakes are packaged in heavy-duty boxes for added stability.
-
If refrigeration is needed, we recommend storing the cake in its box.
